My sister-in-law called me early one morning to ask me if I wanted to come film her friend’s birth. The photographer hadn’t shown up yet, and she wondered if I would come. At the time, I was 9 months pregnant, so the thought of getting up at 2:30 am wasn’t that fun… I just had the feeling I should go. I am so glad I did! Her birth became the model for my own water birth exactly one month later.
